Antarmukha

Turning Inward

A series of five books for children from Grade 1 to Grade 5, carrying the timeless wisdom of India's own knowledge traditions into a child's everyday life.

EXPLORE THE SERIES
THE IDEA BEHIND IT

We push our children to excel outward. Rarely do we ask them to travel inward.

To meet themselves. To discover what's already there. In a world of constant noise and stimulation, the most important thing a child can develop is a quiet, grounded sense of who they are, their values, their imagination, their capacity to pay attention.

India's knowledge traditions understood this deeply. Antarmukha brings that understanding into a child's everyday life.

THIS SERIES

A Five-year journey
inward

Antarmukha is a carefully sequenced series of five textbooks for primary school children, built around yoga, story, art, and traditional play.

Each book carries the timeless values of Indian civilisation into a child's world in ways that feel natural, joyful, and deeply their own.

This is not supplementary content. It is a complete, structured curriculum designed to stand on its own as a dedicated Indian Knowledge Systems subject, whether in a school timetable or a home learning environment.

Yoga

Yoga

Āsana · Yama · Niyama

Yoga in Antarmukha is not just body postures, it builds a steady practice of attention.

Each chapter opens with āsana for the body or experiential activities rooted in Yama and Niyama that develop a child's natural capacity for stillness and self-awareness.

Itihāsa

Story

Story & Reflection

From the Panchatantra to the Upanishads, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, the great stories of our civilisation come alive.

Children don't just read these stories. They live inside them for a while.

Chitrakala

Art

Art as Inner Practice

Art becomes a way of observation, expression and quiet creativity.

Working with natural materials and traditional Indian art forms, children discover imagination through practice.

Bhāratīya Khelā

Play

Traditional Play

Traditional Indian games become tools for teamwork, fairness and joyful learning.

Every game becomes a practice for living well with others.

The Five-Book Journey

One thread, growing quietly

A child who begins in Grade 1 and completes Grade 5 has not just read five books, but they have walked a path that has quietly shaped how they see themselves, their relationships, and their world.

Designed for schools. Built for homes too.

Every session follows a clear, natural rhythm.

IN A SCHOOL SETTING

30–60 dedicated
sessions a year

Antarmukha is designed as a standalone IKS subject with one to two periods a week on the school timetable. The learning progresses through a three-stage learning flow rooted in Indian thought:

  • Yoga
    PREP – SETTLE THE BODY
  • Adhyayana
    LEARNING – OPEN THE MIND
  • Abhivyakti
    EXPRESSION – RESPONSE
AT HOME

A book a child inhabits,
not just reads

Each book is written to be accessible to a parent and child together. Pages include dedicated spaces for the child to respond, reflect, and record, making every book a living document of the child's own inner journey.

A child who spends even one session a week with Antarmukha is, over five years, building something that no exam can measure and no amount of tuition can buy.

WHAT SETS IT APART

The Building Blocks of Antarmukha

01

A five-year arc, not a one-off

Unlike standalone IKS kits or one-off programmes, Antarmukha is a graded journey. Each book builds upon the one before it, deepening a child's engagement.

02

Four dimensions, one whole

Yoga, story, art and traditional play are not separate modules. They are four expressions of the same philosophy and speak to one another.

03

Living pages

Every book has built-in spaces for the child to write, sketch and reflect. It is a book to be inhabited rather than simply read.

04

Rooted in tradition, designed for today

Drawing from Panchatantra, Itihāsas, Yoga, Indian arts and indigenous games, Antarmukha creates a structured curriculum for today's child.

05

NEP 2020 aligned

Directly aligned with NEP's vision of Indian Knowledge Systems as a meaningful and structured part of school education.

06

Co-created with exceptional care

Developed by Vyūha Learning Labs together with Āgāmi Studio, combining curriculum expertise, design and India's visual traditions.
